European Directives

• WEEE 2002/96/EG - waste electrical and electronic equipment directive
• RoHS 2002/95/EG - restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances (waste from electrical and electronic equipment) directive
• REACH 1907/2006/EC – regulation concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals

Both European directives aim to improve the environmental protection, the job safety and the recycling of disused electric appliances/devices.

The KATHREIN-Werke KG has prepared for implementing these laws for a certain period of time already. The necessary steps were planned and processed in several task forces in order to achieve the aims of the directives in due time.

The suppliers are also involved in implementing the restrictions of certain substances. Throughout the entire supply chain merely RoHS compliant procedures are permitted.

In proof of the performance of the compliance with the WEEE or the German ElektroG directives, we were allocated the following registration number: WEEE-Reg.-Nr. DE 38438502.
