Environmental policy

The KATHREIN-Werke KG develops, produces and markets antenna and communication technology components and systems.

Due to the environmental policy we have been practising for many years already, and since our products predominantly contain metals such as steel, aluminium, copper, brass and also specific synthetic materials, we have been long endeavouring to support reducing the environmental pollution ocurring in the manufacturing process. Characterised by a distinctly long life-cycle, a significant part of our product range may be operated for over 15 years - which is in itself a substantial contribution to environmental protection.

Using the materials mentioned supports a simple final disposal of the products at the end of their life-cycle - leading to a high degree of recycling. This factor too, helps bring down any costs involved.

Well aware of an ethical responsibilty for the environment and for future generations, Kathrein‘s executive management have declared for a strong policy of increased and systematic environmental pursuit as self-contained business objective.

The environmental policy guidelines below serve as the basis for this decision.

Environmental policy

Our environmental policy is characterised by the following key statements:

1. In all our decisions we undertake to observe our responsibility for the environment even to the extent above present legal requirements, continually pursuing measures to improve environment protection.

2. We motivate all staff to act with environmental consciousness, both at work and outside the company.

3. We are readily prepared to discuss all questions on environmental matters with our business partners and employees.

4. We undertake to responsibly and carefully devote the resources material and energy, and ensure that new products are developed and produced in such a manner that they can be re-cycled to a high degree after coming out of service. This applies in particular to the electronical components and the packing of our products.

5. We undertake to reduce the pollution of air and water as well as the noise exposure and the solid waste ocurring in the manufacturing process as much as possible.

6. We intend to utilise our environmental activities not only as a tool in our marketing activities, but to realise its full potential in order to reduce expenses.
