“ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009“
Sector meets up in Geneva
Although the “ITU Telecom World 2009“ was considerably smaller than previous runs had been, the exhibition was still a very international event. This year the event attracted 456 exhibitors
from 49 countries to Geneva. The Rosenheim engineers of the antenna specialist KATHREIN showcased a wide range of innovative products regarding base station antennas for both existent and
future mobile communication networks. The “ITU Telecom World” is almost exclusively visited by trade visitors. In the course of the four-day fair, the organisers were able to register
interested parties from 186 countries.
At KATHREIN’s stand, entrepreneur Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Anton Kathrein and Karl Strassmann celebrated their 40-year business relationship. The company Bonanomi AG, which Strassmann heads as
managing director, represents KATHREIN in Switzerland with antenna technology for mobile communications and broadcasting stations as well as broadcast antennas and accessories for vehicles
and hand-held units.
Among the visitors from many countries were Max Hitz of Firma Hitz & Partner as well as Christian Rebetez of Swisscom.
KATHREIN was also visited by a “neighbour“, Klaus Dittrich, the new Managing Director of the Munich exhibition company Messe München GmbH. Needless to say, discussions included comparisons
of the event to the exhibitions held in Bavaria’s capital.
