“IBC 2009“ in Amsterdam
In spite of the crisis: Major projects on the horizon

In spite of the international economic crisis, the leading international forum for the electronics media industry, the “IBC 2009“ in Amsterdam, merely experienced a 7 per cent drop in the number of attendees. Over 1,000 companies attracted 45,547 visitors.

At Kathrein’s stand, guests from Africa, the Far East, Middle East, Eastern and Southern Europe came find out about the company’s innovations. In addition to state-of-the-art measurement technology, the Rosenheim engineers presented the latest technologies for IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) as well as new, compact broadband broadcasting antennas, which are specially designed for digital television reception on mobile phones and for terrestrial applications.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c Anton Kathrein: “We held intensive talks with potential foreign customers regarding the set-up of transmission systems for digital TV.“ Large-scale projects in the Czech Republic, Ghana, India and Russia are on the horizon.

Another attraction was Kathrein’s own beer garden, where visitors could drink to the antenna manufacturer’s 90-year anniversary. In picture: A group of visitors from India with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.
