Broadcast Antenna Seminar
Egyptian technicians in Rosenheim
Over the past few years, Egypt's TV transmission network was modernised and extended using Kathrein antennas. Now, original Rosenheim antennas are being operated in Upper Egypt, along the
Nile and in the major cities in the north of the country.
A new antenna system for analogue radio and DVB-T (digital terrestrial) standard TV is being installed at the new site Cairo-Mokattam.
The site will deliver TV and radio programmes of the public Egyptian radio broadcasting company E.R.T.U. (Egypt Radio and Television Union) to roughly 20 million inhabitants. In future,
three antenna systems will transmit programmes on 13 channels (6 FM, 3 VHF, 4 UHF).
A group of four engineers and technicians recently took part in a broadcast antenna seminar that had been set up especially for the E.R.T.U. crew. During a series of lectures and workshops,
the theory and practice of broadcast antennas were covered in detail. At the end of the course, the participants were extremely satisfied with what they had learned about
Kathrein antenna technology.
"The excellent experience we had had up to now with Kathrein antennas was reaffirmed once more in Rosenheim. Their technology and service meet our expectations to the fullest," said
Fathy Mahfouz Ismail Aboazeid.
