Kathrein combines mobile communications fair with regional congress

The Rosenheim antenna specialist Kathrein took advantage of this year’s “CommunicAsia” in Singapore to hold a congress with Kathrein offices and representatives who operate in the region. At the congress, Company CEO Prof. Dr. Anton Kathrein focused on analysing the current market situation in the region, which is at present quite positive.
“For us as a group, it is extremely important that we operate and act together. That is exactly why this type of event is so valuable within our distribution network,“ believes Prof. Dr. Kathrein.
New products were of course also presented, such as the latest GSM/UMTS 900 antenna. Particular interest was shown in the joint efforts with the companies Ubidyne and Symena. Both projects aim to break new ground in mobile communications and emphasise the effectiveness of Kathrein antennas.
Other congress topics involved digital terrestrial television as well as satellite reception with new receivers.
“The Asian region represents a particular challenge for us. Many local manufacturers and the interest of international suppliers face each other here. We must therefore cover the market unlimitedly with a complete product range and be present on the market at an early stage,“ emphasised Volker Kuhn of the Central Marketing department at Kathrein in Rosenheim: “We should not only just aim to win new projects, but also pave the way in good time with innovative, cutting-edge technology. This will strengthen our position in the Asian region and in turn reflect itself in our order books." As the world market leader in the DVB-T sector, this approach has recently brought Kathrein large-scale projects in China.
