Teledifusion De France
Radio technology from Rosenheim also in demand in France
Technicians and purchasers of the French company TDF – formerly Teledifusion De France – came to Rosenheim to inform themselves on product innovations and production techniques at KATHREIN
accompanied by executive employees of KATHREIN-France. Since digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) is in expansion in France, they were particularly interested in the DVB-T projects that
have already been implemented in Germany. At present, TDF is involved in the launch of T-DMB, a digital radio transmission system for sending multimedia.
Prof. Dr. Anton Kathrein: “In Western Europe, TDF is one of our most important clients in the radio technology sector”. Kathrein holds a market share of over 50% in the antenna units and
systems that have been set up in France, making the company market leader in this segment.
Delivery of radio technology to France isn’t a new thing for Kathrein – the company supplied the VHF diplexers for the transmitter system on the Eiffel tower (324 m) as well as the antenna
for the highest transmitter tower in France, the broadcast tower near Le Mans – Mayet, which is 342 metres high.
